Cons:

I ordered 500 of these Guardhouse flips last year, and was very pleased with them. I do not use them for Crowns or Liberty Silver Eagles, I use them for Casino Chips. The batch I ordered last year had good mylar film in them that stretched nicely over the inserted chips and out of the 500 that I used, I only lost two to breakage when being stapled shut (this can occur if the plastic/mylar stretches too much so that it actually rips. As long as the film is thick enough this does not happen. The latest shipment of the same Guardhouse flips, which I received last week are not the same. These have a noticeably thinner mylar film (not really sure it even is mylar), and out of 100 that I have used thus far, I've lost 12 to film breakage. It is also noticeable that the film is not applied as consistently as it was in the past, as there are visible wrinkles in the film stretched over the enclosed chip (or coin), which detracts from being able to view it clearly. If Guardhouse has lowered their manufacturing standards to save money, they've lost a consumer here. I won't order them again.

  • Difficult to remove coins after stapling
These are the ideal way store coins and chips in an affordable and convenient way. You are able to see both sides through the windows. The coins are safe from finger prints and dust. They easily store away in coin boxes or binder pages. This is my preferred way to store raw coins.

Pros:
Cons:
I have used almost 1,000 of these flips so far, and I am very pleased with the consistent quality. Other flips I've used in the past had two common defects - either they did not align well when folded (result of poor cutting alignment), or the plastic would rip at the coin edge when stapling the flip closed (result of poor quality mylar). These flips have proven to be consistently cut and no ripping.

These fit "big" coins so much better than 2" x 2"s!

These sturdy cardboard 2.5" x 2.5" flips fit my Morgans and other large dollars and tokens SO MUCH BETTER than 2" x 2"s (without leaving gaps open on the sides!), and still allow plenty of space to write down coin details or place a label on the flip. Can't beat the price of these, either. Once you're done securing your big coins in these flips, they fit great inside the 10-inch Single Row Chipboard Box for Slabs or Crown Flips. Very satisfied with my order!
