Coin Supply Express offers blue or black velvet & velour coin capsule boxes. These boxes are specifically designed to accommodate standard Guardhouse Direct Fit and Air-Tite Ring Fit Coin Capsules. Made right here in the U.S.A. , each coin box is constructed around a tough, formed metal shell and wrapped in a plush velvet or velour fabric. The interior base insert is formed to fit standard Guardhouse or Air-Tite coin capsules. The inside lid of the box features a glossy, white cloth fabric called a puff.
How do Velvet and Velour coin boxes differ?
In a nutshell, Velvet is a higher-end material than Velour. Velvet is softer to the touch and has a plusher appearance. The Velour coin boxes are considered as an economical alternative to Velvet boxes because the material is slightly thinner, is not soft to the touch, and lacks the same glossy appearance. Other than that, the form and function of the Velvet coin box and Velour box are identical.
How do I decide which one is better for me?
It depends on your preference or budget. Even though Velour coin boxes are less expensive, they perform the same function – namely, holding and displaying coins in coin capsules for gift or display - but Velour is not as plush as a Velvet finish. If you want a coin display box with a more elegant look, go with the Velvet boxes. If you need a polished look but also need to be within a budget, go with the Velour coin boxes.
Does the color of the blue velour and blue velvet differ?
Yes. There is a slight difference. The Velvet coin box is a “ darker ” blue, and the Velour is a " brighter " blue.
