The Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005 made provisions for $10 gold bullion coins representing the first spouses to correspond with the release of the Presidential dollars. To make these designs more accessible to the public, Congress also approved the striking of bronze medals that "bear the likeness of the bullion coins." Each bullion coin will feature a unique design that presents an image of a person who was a spouse of a president while the president was in office. When a president had two wives during his time in office, each women will appear on a separate coin. When he served without a spouse, the obverse will be emblematic of the concept of "Liberty". In most instances, this will be the image of Liverty as represented on U.S. coins during the presidents term. - Whitman Publishing
