"In Decemeber 1997, President Clinton signed into law the United Sates Dollar Coin Act of 1997, requiring the Treasury Department to place in to circulation a new one-dollar coin, similar in size to the Susan B. Anthony dollar coin, golden in color, and with distinctive edge. The new dollar coin design, which bears the image of Sacagawea, was selected by Treasury Secretary Robert E.
