It's been many years since I bought 2x2 paper envelopes. I was pleased to see the variety of colors (I purchased blue). They seem well constructed and they are acid free, sulphur free, and pH neutral.
I make and sell handmade jewelry and I use the Guardhouse white 2"x2" paper envelopes on the back of my jewelry cards. I was searching for a sleeve that was acid and sulfur free and would not damage my silver chains. I thought why not look how coins are protected and I found these envelopes online. I have ordered two boxes already and I am very please with the quality and protection they give my silver.
The 2x2" white paper envelopes with ungummed flaps, all made from acid-free, sulfur-free paper, were just what we needed for coins and other very small items. We write numbers and other info on the fronts of the envelopes so these were just what we needed. The info listing was helpful to know particulars of the product.
Although I am using the 2x2 envelopes for storing seed, the neutral archival paper is ideal for my home seed bank as it will not fall apart and render the collection unusable over time. The written information on the envelopes is as much a record of the seeds as the external notes connected to them.
The same compact size and easy to write on white surface makes them good for coin storage also makes them good for my alternate use of seed storage. The lack of adhesive on the flap also makes them good for my alternate use.
